To Concour on a New Hobby

Most of the time,I see young teenagers buying expensive professional cameras and then claim to call themselves 'photographers'. Just because you're rich enough to afford a good camera and take pictures with that certain camera, doesn't really make you a photographer. Now,every person I know in school who has a Nikon or Canon or even Polaroid always seem to call themselves photographers. I only consider you a proper photographer if you're able to take a decent or good picture with just an ordinary camera. I only call you a talented photographer if you're able to see what angles, lightings, shadows and effects you need to use during the activity of  taking photos to make an image wonderful.Photography isn't just taking pictures or capturing random things,it's an art form. Having knowledge on this topic when taking a picture will make the image more meaningful.

I want to do photography as a hobby but I'm taking small steps instead of doing what the other students at my school do. I'm trying to discover unique ways to make an image more special, what techniques I need to use in order to make an image worth it and what precautions to take when doing so to make the image brilliant and outstanding. I'm trying to experiment with my pictures. I also try to find themes suitable for an image whenever I take one. For example, making an image black and white to make it seem more classy or zooming into an object,so you can show what the main factor of the image is. These are the main things I pay attention on when taking pictures with my bad quality camera.

I'm trying to experience more genre's of photography like landscape, still life, buildings, etc.

At the moment,I really want to get a professional camera and improve my skills.I'll try to save a bit of money in order to buy it. Of course, I won't be like those individuals who ramble on about being a photographer when they're no where near as good as one,but still ramble on about it because they have a good quality camera in which they still manage to take average looking pictures with even though they spent near $1000 for that sophisticated camera.

Mirror Mirror and Snow White and the Huntsman

Right now, there is competition between the two films. Mirror Mirror being a comedy casting a fun type of mood displayed in its trailer, while Snow White and the Huntsman represents the tale itself  in a darker form. I've watched trailers of both the films but haven't exactly watched any of the two movies yet. In the Mirror Mirror trailer,Snow White and basically the actress who in which plays her attracts me to this film.I also happen to enjoy anything funny and hilarious.

For Snow White and the Huntsman, the evil queen catches my attention-I guess Charlize Theron takes her acting skills to a  new territory in this movie. Don't get me wrong here, both films look brilliant. But since I'm only judging by their trailers,Snow White and the Huntsman in my opinion wins. It really gets to me as an individual and makes me feel all sorts of emotions whether it's excitement or terror.
When I was watching the trailer of the film,to my disappointment I saw Kristen Stewart as Snow White in it-but maybe I shouldn't judge her due to Twilight, she might do brilliantly in this film.

Besides,I absolutely love it when such films like Cinderella,Alice in Wonderland and Beauty and the Beast are shown in their original genre style. You see, when the authors of these stories wrote these fairy tales, their stories were originally dark and lucid-not bright and happy-in which case Disney made it out to be.

What's with everyone comparing The Hunger Games to Twilight?

Ever since people had found out it was tranforming into a film, the comparisons between Twilight and The Hunger Games collided. The media made The Hunger Games look like something it was completely not. The only similarities I see between Twilight and The Hunger Games is the fact they both consist of some sort of love triangle. Overall,Twilight is nothing like this brilliant series. In The Hunger Games series,It's more than just Peeta Mellark and Katniss Everdeen. It's basically about survival and death. Tragedy and fast pace action. The novels of this series keep you feeling intense and you simply can't put any of novels down. The main characters are inspirational.Katniss is a strong and smart individual, she's been through a lot but that's only made her a much stronger person.Katniss actually grows as a character throughout the books. Many young girls can learn from Katniss. And Peeta Mellark,I can't forgot about him. He is the most caring person out there. Even though he isn't as strengthful as Katniss..Or many others,he still tries his best.He still tries to get physical. No matter what,he still manages to try. Now,thats called dedication. As far as I can tell, not even the good guys in Twilight were that inspirational.

Before you start comparing The Hunger Games with Twilight, actually read The Hunger Games series before you do so. There might be a lot of things you misjudged.

Titanic 3D

Back when the film was first released in 1997,I was born a few months before it hit theatres.During most of my childhood I would generally hear about the movie Titanic. It was talked about a lot,I guess the film created a huge hype of itself when it reached theatres. This famous film was the most money grossed film of all time. However, I never really understood all the hype and attention people would create upon the film at the time. At the age of seven I watched about ten minutes of the film and that was the only amount of  time I had ever watched of it. In 2010, four months after my 13th birthday,it was December and I was changing the channel continuously due to complete boredom.I was wasting my time trying to find something interesting to watch. That was when I then came across 'Titanic' on channel Ten. I thought to myself
''I think I'm probably the only person who hasn't watched it yet.'' So I forced myself to not judge and simply watch it.And let me just say,the film was bloody long. As I watched the movie I eventually got emotional and grew attached to the characters. I was crying so much. Once the film had finished,I ran to my bedroom, turned the lights off and tried to sleep but all I could do was cry and replay the scenes over and over again in my head. I'm not the type to cry over movies but Titanic managed to do its job. It wasn't just Jack or Rose that made the film ''emotional''. There were a few other scenes that did not exactly contain the two main characters. There was one of a little girl asking her father why he couldn't go on the boat with her and her mother. Her mother then carried her on the boat and the little girl cried as she looked at her father from afar while he just stood awkwardly on the top of the ship with saddening eyes, the scene went something like that I think. I knew her father would sink beneath the sea with the ship or jump off the ship and into to the freezing waters which would lead to death of hypothermia. That little girl would have to live her life without her real father. Another heart-wrenching scene was when a lady wouldn't go on any of the boats but instead stayed on the ship with her husband. She and her husband just  lied in bed peacefully. She wanted to die with him.She could of saved her own life by going on one of the boats but she chose to die with her husband by her side. That scene really got to me. And how can I possibly forget, the orchestra of violinists who managed to still play songs when people were scurrying by with complete fear, agony and despair e.g of their death to occur, losing their loved ones, saying goodbyes.

For a few weeks I'd go to school and the think about Titanic. It would randomly pop up into my mind. That's when I started to do some research of the ship. I learnt about the passengers, boats, sisters of the Titanic, where the Titanic was now,who created the Titanic, the amount of years it took to construct the titanic, etc.

The movie will be re-released in 3D on April 5. Even though I can already watch it from DVD,watching it at the cinemas isn't a bad idea to me at all . For our generation,we didn't get to experience Titanic like our elders did. I really want to see it on big screen, with bursting volume and amazing 3D. Watching a film in theatres is a complete different experience from watching it from perhaps your tv in your own home. This is a great thing for our generation. We'll be able to experience this film in cinemas! Just like our parents did. Except better,we get 3D! It may seem ridiculous to you,but I'm quite happy about it all.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower
by Stephen Chbosky

In the novel, the language features were very simple and basic but at the same time, the story still managed to seem descriptive and deep. Looking through the perspective of Charlie's life made me look at my own life quite differently. As a character,he dominates everything around him. He doesn't get noticed often but he happens to always notice and observe everything around him, when others might not realise the particular things he takes notice of. During his struggles,he stays strong. He tends to pay more attention to others issues and problems instead of his own mess. The thing that shocked me most was when he came to the realisation of his favourite aunt being a person who in which molested him as a young kid. Through all that,he still managed to forgive her from the grave beneath. I personally think he's a great brother, student, friend, son and mainly person. He's intellectual whether it comes to the real world or the small world within school. He may not seem adventurous at first but he really is adventurous in unique manners. I kind of think Charlie is easy to judge;when you look at him he may seem weak and quiet but in all honesty,he's a strong individual with hope. What I'm writing here isn't much of a book review,it's more about my opinion on this lovely main character.I will start mentioning the characteristics of his two friends 'Sam' and 'Patrick' and  my analyse and opinion of them too.

Patrick, the stepbrother of Sam,is a casual and laid back guy. From what Charlie says,he's extremely hilarious. This is the type of guy who will make you grin or giggle during the rough patches of life. In the novel,he outgoes terrible situations. He's a homosexual and doesn't mind this at all.Brad, the football quarter-back is also on the same page but sadly feels ashamed about being one. Patrick and Brad's relationship develops and before they even know it,Brad's dad catches them both in the act. With Brad getting a black eye from his dad,he then starts to ignore Patrick. Patrick begins to feel all sorts of emotions such as sadness, isolation and depression. When Patrick is emotionally under pressure, his personality completely changes. I know Patrick as the guy who will not take anything in life too seriously but instead enjoy the funny bits. I know Patrick as the guy who is always there for his buddies. And most of all I know Patrick as the guy who taught Charlie the important things in life.

Sam is smart, pretty and nice in Charlie's point of view. She's understanding and can make almost anyone feel comfortable around her. When she finds out Charlie has a crush on her,she leaves it at that and laughs it off, that just shows how down to earth and calm she really is. When Charlie came up to Sam to kiss her due to being dared to kiss the prettiest girl in the room,Sam didn't take it as a compliment but got severely angered by this. She wasn't happy about it because her friend Mary got radically hurt, this also shows what type of friend Sam can be. And I must say, anyone would be lucky to have a great friend like her. She's open minded and peaceful.

Overall,it would be so lovely to have these three as my bestfriends. They'd know how to cheer me up,they'd be trustworthy and they'd be there for me. Hopefully in real life,I will come across people like them.

I'm excited about it becoming a film. It's directed by the author himself.I will definitely watch it as soon as it hits theatres.

If you haven't read 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower' by Stephen Chbosky, you're probably confused by this article. My advice is...Go read it! You don't know what you're missing out on. It's a brilliant read of life's dynamics for many young adults.

And May the Odds Be Ever in Your Favour!

I'm excited!

I've been a  fan of The Hunger Games for a few years and seeing the first novel of this brilliant series transform into a film will be a huge adventure of an experience. I'm a bit scared to watch it as a film since most directors fail to represent a book of how it really goes and what elements the characters simply have. Judging by the trailer,it looks fantastic. I hope the movie lives up to the hype and of course lives up to the book. I won't be able to watch the film on the exact date of which it get's released in Australia, seeing as how it's completely full and booked. My friends and I have agreed to go watch it next week, not this week. Even as I am writing this,I'm bursting with excitement. My palms are getting sweaty as I am waiting for the games to begin.
